Member Classifications
 

Proprietary Membership

A Proprietary Membership is held by a duly approved member or members having one pro-rata share of the outstanding capital of the Club along with the other then-existing Proprietary Memberships. Each Proprietary Membership shall be entitled to one vote and only one vote. Proprietary Memberships shall be the only voting memberships. Owners of a Proprietary Membership will have the full rights and privileges of the clubhouse, golf course, driving range and swimming pool; subject to the Rules and Regulations adopted by the Board of Directors and in accordance with the provisions of the Contra Costa Country Club Bylaws. The dependents of a Proprietary Member shall be extended the rights and privileges of such Proprietary Member to the extent authorized by the Board of Directors, except that they shall not have the right to vote or hold office.

Eligible dependents shall consist of the spouse or domestic partner and unmarried, dependent children under the age of twenty-three (23), provided they are still residing with their parents. Unmarried children of a member who are students temporarily residing at an educational institution shall be deemed to reside in the member's household.

Junior Executive Membership

A Junior Executive Membership is held by a person admitted to membership prior to turning 36 years of age, subject to the following: upon the Membership Committee's recommendation, the Board of Directors elects to defer the transfer fee component of the initiation fee. A Junior Executive Member shall have the same rights and privileges as a Proprietary Member. All other conditions and responsibilities asscioated with the purchase and sale of a Club Membership shall apply. No more than 6 new Junior Executive Memberships shall be created in any calendar year.

Social Associate Membership

A Social Associate shall be invited to attend all social events throughout the year and have unlimited use of the newly refurbished pool pavilion and pool amenities. A Social Associate may play 4 rounds of golf (with a guest) per year with payment of normal guest green fees and use of the practice range / putting green when playing one of the 4 rounds.

 

Trial Membership 

A Trial Member shall have all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of a Proprietary Member except the right to vote and serve on Committees, or on the Board. A person or family can only be a Trial Member one time. The Board will have discretion in determining the maximum length of time a person / family can be a Trial Member under the Trial Membership Program but not more than (6) months. The Board will also have discretion to determine all initiation fees, dues and deposits required under the Trial Membership Program and to determine what portion, if any, of those costs will be applied to the Trial Member's purchase of a Proprietary Membership.

Social Membership

Full Golf Membership (limited to 250) is available for the Golf Enthusiast with unlimited golf. It also includes access to all other club amenities such as: dining, tennis, fitness center for the member, spouse and / or significant other and any eligible children.

Deferred Golf Membership Program was created for a prospective New Member who is still currently engaged in a profession that limits the amount of time he/she can spend at the Club. Executive Golf: This membership is available to any person, age 54 and under. The membership must be converted to a Full Golf Membership when the Member reaches the age of 55. There are 15 Junior Associate memberships at El Niguel Country Club. They are available to persons under age 40, and include full membership privileges. Junior Associate members are not subject to assessment, and are not eligible to vote in Club elections. Junior Associate members pay reduced monthly dues based on the age of the member. There are also annual fees that can be applied toward Equity membership at any time.

Social Associate Memberships

Non-golfers may also enjoy the benefits of El Niguel Country Club’s beautiful facilities through a Social membership. Social members are entitled to full use of the dining facilities and participation in all non-golf related special events.

Pathway To Golf Program For Social Memberships

This member may also bring up to three guests with them each time they play. The guests must pay guest green fees when they golf with the Social Member. The Social Member's three green fees (during the three month trial) are included in the one-time fee. This upgrade option may be enjoyed only once.

Non-Proprietary Junior Membership (Ages 21-38)

Junior Members are bound by the same food and beverage minimum as proprietary members. The membership is good until the member's 39th birthday, at which time the Junior member has the option of converting to a Proprietary Golf Membership. The membership is split into three tiers and each tier has a limited capacity of 10 members.

Emerald Hills Golf Course

Elks Lodge Membership
 

To be eligible for membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you must be a citizen of the United States (or an individual who has served in the armed forces) over the age of 21 who believes in God.

You must be sponsored by a member of the Elks Lodge and reside in the jurisdiction of the Lodge you wish to join. You also need two other Elks who will be your co-sponsors. The Elk who proposes you for membership must obtain a Membership Application from the Lodge Secretary.

After your proposer fills in the required portion, you will be given the Application for Membership. Fill it in following the instructions and answering all questions. Return the completed application to the Lodge Secretary.

Your application will be read at a regular Lodge meeting. It will then be forwarded to the Investigating Committee who will call you and set up a time for you and your sponsor to meet with the committee so that they can interview you. 

After the interview is concluded, the committee will report to the Lodge concerning your membership. The members will be give a notice not less than 10 days nor more than two months before the vote will be taken. 

When the vote is concluded, you will be notified and asked to present yourself and your spouse for indoctrination. During indoctrination, you will learn more about the Order's programs and charities. You will also be told during the program the date you will be initiated. 

After initiation as an Elk, you can take part in all meetings and social functions of the Lodge. 

If for any reason your application is rejected, you cannot make application for membership for six months from the date of rejection.
