Saucon Valley Country Club Membership

Membership

For those looking for a total recreational and social experience with emphasis on golf, Saucon Valley Country Club provides what is arguably the finest overall facility in the country. Situated on 850 acres, the campus includes 60 holes of golf with three championship courses; indoor and outdoor tennis; a four pool swimming complex; squash; platform tennis; fitness center and fly fishing. Dining needs are supported by 10 indoor and outdoor eating venues. The historic Weyhill Guest House provides lodging with 13 bedrooms. With all these facilities accessibility is never an issue.

There is a strong sense of community throughout the venues and activities. The Club strives to help members and families build life long relationships.

All of these benefits are delivered by a highly trained staff committed to excellence and the preservation of tradition. Maintaining the over-all experience and the quality of the campus will not be compromised.

Our Purpose, Heritage, and Organization
The purpose of Saucon Valley Country Club is to provide superior, private recreational and social facilities for the exclusive use of its members and their families. Founded in 1920, the Club adopted and retains the conservative dress code, civil manners, and social amenities typical of great, enduring private clubs organized in the 19th and early 20th Century. The Club is managed by a Board of Governors elected by the members, and is organized as a not-for-profit and non-equity corporation – an arrangement that supports the expectation that the Club will endure in perpetuity. In the belief that the members are its most important asset, the Club endeavors to select its membership, with the utmost care – free of ethnic or religious considerations.

Facilities
The Club possesses outstanding facilities including extensive golf, racquets sports and swimming, along with a variety of venues for fine dining. It is the policy of the Club that all such facilities shall be of superior quality and offered in a surrounding which provides maximum pleasure to Club members and their families; and that fees and charges will reflect that policy. Expansion of such facilities will be considered only after careful and diligent review by the Board of Governors.

Access to Facilities
To assure members access to all facilities without undue crowding or delay, and at acceptable cost, the Club strives to maintain a judicious balancing of factors contributing to the use of facilities such as the number of active members, the rules pertaining to their introduction of personal and family guests, and the rules pertaining to members using the Club for other than personal reasons. The club has adopted the following priorities to guide specific decisions in these matters. The first priority is to maximize member access to all facilities at times of their choosing. In a situation requiring a decision between a nominal increase in fees versus more crowding of facilities, fees will be increased. The second priority is to provide reasonable access, at moderate costs, for personal family, and out of town guests. Lastly, the Club endeavors to preserve its private status. In that regard, a member’s introduction of guests and use of Club facilities for other than personal reasons is subject to restrictive rules and frequent review by the Board of Governors.

Traditions of Membership
Finally, the membership takes pride in its heritage and strongly reaffirms the objectives and traditions of our founders: the club provides a refuge from the outside world, a very private Club where good manners, a high moral code, personal integrity, etiquette and mutual respect are inherent in the membership; where rules are seldom invoked because common sense, common courtesy, and allegiance to the principles of our heritage govern member behavior; and, where members and their families can relax and enjoy recreation, fine dining, and the social compatibility of other members.

Preserving Saucon Traditions
Respect for these traditions and high standards of excellence are essential to preserving and fostering an atmosphere at Saucon that will transcend influences outside of the Club. Members have joined Saucon for these wonderful traditions and models of behavior and expect it to remain a constant beacon for future members to emulate.

Corporate Membership Guidelines

Corporate Members: A corporation must be a legally structured registered corporation. A corporate member may have a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of five (5) designees. All dues, food and beverage minimums, assessments and other fees applicable to the membership class chosen (i.e. full, sports, or social) apply for each corporate employee designee. All privileges of the membership class chosen would apply except: there is only 1 vote per corporate (full) membership, with the voting member designated by the corporation.

All dues, food & beverage minimums, assessments, etc, for the appropriate class of membership apply for each designee. For example, if there are 3 employees on a corporate membership as Full members, each of the three pay dues of $275, a quarterly food and beverage minimum of $150, and all other charges per the Full Member Class.

All corporate designees are subject to Club By-Laws, Article V – Admission of Members regarding application procedures and approval of membership and to Article IX – Discipline and Dismissal and all other club by-laws, rules, and regulations.

There is only 1 vote allowed per Corporate (Full) Membership – the voting member is to be designated by the corporation.

Fee Structure:
The corporate membership requires a non-refundable one time initiation fee of $500. This initiation fee would allow a minimum of two (2) employees of the corporation to be designated as Full, Sports, or Social Members with the privileges of each of those classes of membership (with the exception of the voting limitation per above)

Additional employee designees would be permitted on the corporate membership by paying the additional monthly dues for that designee, with up to five (5) total members allowed per corporate membership.

If a Designee leaves or changes, a $250 transfer fee and Board approval procedures for the new designee will be required.

Pasatiempo Golf Club Membership

Becoming A Member at Pasatiempo

It is all about the golf course! Pasatiempo is widely recognized to be among the finest golf courses in the country. It is a classic course that forces players to think and use every club in their bag. It was the home course of golf’s most acclaimed architect Alister MacKenzie, who is also known for his creations at nearby Cypress Point, Augusta National, Royal Melbourne, Lahinch, and many other world renowned courses. With ocean views on many of the holes and outstanding weather that allows year-round play, Pasatiempo is a "must play" for serious golfers.

Pasatiempo is owned by its shareholders, who enjoy unrestricted access to the historic course seven days a week. Pasatiempo’s full equity membership, nominal transfer fees and low annual membership fees set it apart from most private golf clubs. There is no waiting list, no "membership committee" or transfer approval process - shareholders may sell their shares to whomever they like, ensuring that Pasatiempo always has an open and diverse membership. Most play at the course is by members, but public golf is permitted during certain hours.

How Does One Become A Member Of Pasatiempo Golf Club?
There are two steps to acquiring golf membership and playing privileges: (1) purchase a share of stock in Pasatiempo, Inc., and (2) purchase annual playing privileges, which are available to shareholders only.

Pasatiempo Inc. owns the golf course and its related facilities. Currently, there are approximately 390 outstanding shares that are traded privately. Individual shareholders set the price for the share, and handle all aspects of the negotiation and sale. To get information regarding the price of shares currently for sale contact Pasatiempo’s General Manager, Scott Hoyt.

When an agreement has been reached, the Pasatiempo General Manager assists with the stock transfer.

Only shareholders may purchase an annual golf membership. Currently the annual fee is $5,160 for an individual and $7,380 for an individual and playing spouse, plus $720 per golfing child.* There are no monthly dues and no food minimums. Members enjoy a discount on all pro shop purchases. Annual members may also participate in any of Pasatiempo's five in-house golf clubs: men’s, seniors, women’s 18 hole, women’s 9 hole, and couples. These clubs host a variety of social functions, as well as golf tournaments locally and abroad.

What Fees Are Collected When A Share Changes Hands?
The share seller only pays an administrative fee of $1000. By comparison, many private golf and country clubs charge far more. Transfer fees of up to 50% of the sale price are common.

New shareholders pay no administrative fees. However, when a shareholder first purchases annual playing privileges, they must pay a one time new member capital fee of $8,500.*

*Pasatiempo’s fees and rules regarding share sales and annual golfing privileges are updated from time to time and subject to change without notice. Please contact Scott Hoyt for the most recent applicable fee structure.

Corporate Memberships

Pasatiempo offers a limited number of corporate partner memberships each year. This will enable corporations to provide multiple executives with a place to reward employees with a round of golf or to entertain clients in the setting of a world class golf club. Pasatiempo’s corporate partner membership plan has no restrictions on the number of executives who can participate. There are no initiation fees, no stock to purchase and no food and beverage minimums. If you already use Pasatiempo to entertain clients or reward employees, this plan offers a number of advantages.

Privileges of Corporate Partner Membership:
  • Ability to make advance tee time reservations at no charge ($30 per person per tee time value)
  • Pay only for the golf you actually use at the public rate
  • 20% discount on all pro shop merchandise
  • Carts available at discounted rate ($17 per person)
  • Charging privileges for all approved executives
  • Lockers available, and unlimited free range balls day of play
  • Access to Hollins House for fine dining and meetings
Establishing a Corporate Partner Membership
Establishing a corporate partner membership for your company is easy. Corporate partners provide Pasatiempo with a $10,000 annual non-refundable deposit, which serves as a credit on your Pasatiempo corporate account for all golf, food and beverage, and merchandise charges. Greens fees and other charges that are made by the corporations approved corporate golfers will be charged to the corporate account and deducted from the $10,000 credit. Once the credit balance has been used for the year, the corporation will be asked to make deposits in $1,000 dollar increments to cover current and future charges.

Other Terms and Conditions
Corporate members may make tee times during all public hours, but may not play during Pasatiempo’s member hours. These tee times are reserved for full equity members. Greens fees are billed to corporate accounts at the reduced fee of $150 per round. Corporate associate members may not participate in club events and tournaments, and do not enjoy the privileges of full equity membership at the club except where specifically noted. Corporations public or private, as well as LLCs and partnerships, are eligible.
